NVvA

NVvA

The NVvA (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Aanbestedingsrecht), which translates to ‘the Dutch Association for Procurement Law’, was a project that we rebranded completely. The goal for the new website was to make it more clear that the NVvA is aiming to bring people together on the subject procurement law and that they can provide the best and most precise information related to this subject.

With the current look & feel, the NVvA missed trustworthiness, calmness, stability, as well as connectivity. At that moment, our client was satisfied with the rich amount of written content on their website, but they would like to give a newer appearance and add values to their website.

The process and reflection

At the beginning of this project, I started with selecting the fonts that fitted the goals our client had in mind. To emphasise the values of trustworthiness, calm, stability, and connectivity, we wanted to find a font which looks accessible, while still preserving the professional appearance. I selected multiple fonts within the geometric sans-serif and humanist sans-serif spectrum and made along side the selected colors, shapes and the use of photography, and put them into a few websites and logo proposals for the client to review.

The feedback of the client consisted of a minor tweak to the selected logo and a merge of two of the website concepts. I pursued the feedback and placed the proposal back to the client. They agreed with the proposal, therefore I continued making all the other website pages which were required to bring it to the next phase of the project: Frontend Development. In that stage, I worked together with our Frontend Developer to make sure the website is fully responsive and working as we intended.

This project eventually became one of my favourite projects, because the entire process went fairly smoothly: coming up with brand styles, proposing it to the client, executing the new style to the whole website and creating a new logo alongside of it. I felt the project was challenging, but it definitely gave me a sense of achievement whenever the momentum of the project is on your side.

This project is currently still in development and will be live soon.
